Mission: The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation exists to:

Support the pursuit of excellence in service and people’s health outcomes at the Toowoomba Hospital, Baillie Henderson Hospital and Mt Lofty Heights Nursing Home by improving facilities, equipment, research and development, and education and training;
Objectives:

To provide money or travel grants, conference expenses, fellowships, allowances and prizes for any matter concerning the health and well-being of people.

To research, or arrange or promote research (including surveys relevant to health service or hospital functions) into and development of, any branch of medical science, technological research, medical investigation or other matter concerning the health or wellbeing of people, with a view to general improvement in health services.

To provide grants for persons engaged in research or survey relative to the functions, duties, management and administration of Toowoomba Hospital, Baillie Henderson Hospital & Mt Lofty Heights Nursing Home.

To develop, purchase and manage businesses which will provide from their profits, income to the Foundation, and assist to facilitate the Foundation’s aims of support to its community.
Structure:
The basic structure of the Foundation is set forth in the Hospitals Foundation Act 1982. The Act delineates the functions, objects and powers of the Foundation and establishes the guidelines of the Foundation’s corporate functions.
The Foundation’s financial policies are also regulated by the Act. The Auditor-General audits the Foundation’s financial records on an annual basis.
Foundation Members: Members of the Foundation, who are appointed by the Governor in Council, are drawn from the Business, Medical and University Communities. They serve without remuneration on a volunteer basis.
