Fire Services Charity Golf Day
Each February since 1995, the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation has combined forces with the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (Toowoomba) to present a charity golf day at the Toowoomba Golf Club. During the ten years of staging this annual event, over $60,000 has been raised to purchase equipment such as an ECG Machine, Burns Bath, Patient Transfer Trolley and a Patient Transport Monitor for the Emergency Department at the Toowoomba Hospital. Funds have also been donated to the Toowoomba Hospital Children’s Appeal.
Toowoomba Hospital Renal Unit Charity Race Day
The Renal Unit at the Toowoomba Hospital has a dedicated fund raising committee who have assisted in conducting an annual race day at Clifford Park Racecourse Toowoomba each year since 1996, to raise funds which go towards improving equipment and increasing comfort for Renal Unit patients. The committee is made up of Toowoomba Hospital staff members, Toowoomba Hospital Foundation representatives, patients, relatives and friends. The Race Day is held on the last Saturday of February every year.
Over $115,000 has been raised over the past 11 years and the event has sustained its success thanks to the hard work of the patients, their families and friends and the dedicated staff of the Renal Unit at the Toowoomba Hospital.
Queensland Hoteliers Charity Golf Day
Queensland Hoteliers Association (Toowoomba Division) Charity Golf Day
Hoteliers in the Toowoomba region have always been keen to give back to their community and so, every October they host a charity golf day where funds raised from the day are donated to the oncology (Cancer Care) Unit at the Toowoomba Hospital.
This event is now in its 13th year and in excess of $75,000 has been raised for the benefit of the hospital. This year’s event was held at the Toowoomba Golf Club on 11th October 2007 where raffles, a great game of golf and a few refreshments were enjoyed.
L. J. Hooker Charity Golf Day/Race Day
Through the dedication and commitment of Jan Malmstrom of LJ Hooker Toowoomba, the Oncology (Cancer Care) Unit, Palliative Care and Chemotherapy at the Toowoomba Hospital has benefited from numerous fund raising activities. Each year Jan & LJ Hooker Toowoomba combine forces with the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation to stage one of the most successful charity race days held in the region at Toowoomba’s Clifford Park Racecourse. Since 1995, over $80,000 has been raised to purchase much needed equipment for the oncology and Chemotherapy Units at Toowoomba Hospital. The Toowoomba Hospital has also benefited from funds raised at such events as the LJ Hooker Charity Race Day.
Toowoomba Hospital Children’s Appeal
The Toowoomba Hospital Children’s Appeal is now in its sixth year and already over $250,000 has been raised to provide special equipment for children’s health at the Toowoomba Hospital. Vital equipment is identified, a target is set and the fund raising is staged over the period leading into Christmas. Joint sponsors Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre, WIN Television, The Chronicle, Radio 4AK/WK & Birch Carroll & Coyle conduct an intensive campaign that has seen items such as an Intensive Care Isolette, Ivy Vital Signs Monitor and a Continuos Positive Airways Pressure Machine purchased for the special Care Nursery. The target for the 2005 appeal was set at $60,000 and raising in the community included a Sportman’s Luncheon, spectacular children’s ballet concert, movie nights, Legends of League, Tropical Shirt Friday. This year’s appeal will be launched by that well-known and much loved character Humphrey B Bear and will conclude with a presentation and handing over equipment at Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre just prior to Christmas.
McHappy Days
Each and every year McDonalds Restaurants across Australia conduct McHappy Day where one dollar from every Big Mac sold goes to Children’s Charities. In Toowoomba, the McDonalds West & McDonalds Clifford Gardens donates funds from the Helping Hand Promotion to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation for the Children’s Ward at the Toowoomba Hospital.
The Helping Hands initiative by McDonalds has assisted local stores to support local hospitals and this year a total of $2961 was raised to support the purchase of equipment for the Children’s Ward at the Toowoomba Hospital.
PRD/Nationwide Real Estate Charity Golf Day
PRD Nationwide has been wonderful supporters of the Toowoomba Hospital over many years and conducts an annual charity golf day in March which assists the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.
Teams battle it out at the City Golf Club for a great array of trophies and prizes with the aim to raise funds for the Toowoomba Hospital.
