Raising funds in support of the Toowoomba Hospital Christmas Appeal
Working with The Ellie Project (Toowoomba Mum Karlie and her 2-year-old daughter Ellie who was diagnosed with Leukaemia in January 2021), the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s 2021 Christmas Appeal will embark on the Toowoomba Hospital Paediatric Oncology Upgrade project to enhance the current facilities and provide comforts and essential items so that families like Karlie and Ellie have a more welcoming and warm environment to come to for their treatment.
The Day Oncology Unit, where our region’s children go for treatment is a shared space with adult chemotherapy patients and is often a very confronting and clinical space for young children undergoing cancer treatment. The Foundation will work with Darling Downs Health and the Toowoomba Hospital Paediatric Unit to fund priority equipment so that children's cancer care can be delivered on the Paediatric Ward.
