Tell me about the course

All of the information regarding the route can be found HERE. We will soon have a GPS download of the route available for you.

What time does the event start?

On Saturday 13 October 2018, we ask participants to arrive at Harvey Norman carpark, 910/932 Ruthven St between 5:30am and 6:00am to collect their participant packs and to organise their luggage transportation on the buses provided to Gordon Country. The bike ride will officially kick off at 7am.

If I miss the start time, can I still participate?

No. Unfortunately we are unable to cater to riders who miss the start time.

If I don’t raise $1,000 through my fundraising page, can I still participate?

Yes absolutely! We understand that fundraising isn’t always the easiest of tasks, so while we ask that participants do their best to fundraise $1,000, should you fall short of this target, we are still so grateful for your efforts and cannot wait to have you as a part of the Volvo Trucks Handling the Outback!

Is Handling the Outback a race?

No. Volvo Trucks Handling the Outback is a charity bike ride and definitely not a race.

What if I break down?

We will have a number of support vehicles, volunteers, and mechanics and staff members along the route to help all participants. First-aid will also be available. If you require any assistance, please contact the emergency number on your emergency contact card.

What if I can’t continue the ride?

A bus and sag wagon will be riding behind you every pedal of the way, so if you get to a point where you feel you can no longer continue, you are able to get on the bus and the sag wagon will transport your bike for the remainder of the route on that day. Please phone the emergency number on your emergency contact card should you want to discontinue riding.

Can I register a team?

Yes definitely! In fact, we think entering as a team is a great way to have even more fun in an event such as Volvo Trucks Handling the Outback. Each team member will still need to enter individually, however as a part of the registration process, you can create your team.
