Children spending time in hospital this Easter season have received a special visit from the Easter Bunny with staff from Bunnings Toowoomba West hopping through the Toowoomba Hospital Paediatrics Ward gifting eggs and crafts.

Bringing some joy and distraction to kids, their families and staff on the ward, the Easter Bunny was welcomed with plenty of smiles.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy thanked the Easter Bunny and Bunnings Toowoomba West for making a special visit to Toowoomba Hospital.

“We’re incredibly thankful to the Easter Bunny for taking the time to pop into see the kids and staff at Toowoomba Hospital Paediatric Unit and for the team at Bunnings Toowoomba West for their lovely craft gifts,” she said.

“It’s always so wonderful when we receive special visitors, especially one as important and as busy as the Easter Bunny at this time of year.

“It’s not always fun being in hospital, so thank you to the Bunnings team for helping to bringing some joy, distraction, and of course chocolate to children spending the Easter Season with us.”

Bunnings Toowoomba West Activities Organiser, Christine ‘Polly’ Pollard said the team loved being able to bring happiness and smiles to the faces of children in hospital.

“It makes me happy doing this job. It’s nice to see the kids smile, because they get excited. Everyone loves the Easter Bunny – everyone does because he brings chocolate Easter eggs – so who wouldn’t like it!,” she said.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation has also partnered with Woolworths Drayton to gift chocolate Easter Eggs to residents of Mount Lofty Heights Nursing Home and to ensure staff at Toowoomba Hospital have plenty of eggs to gift to children admitted to hospital over the Easter long weekend.
