Funding Streams

Our four major funding streams are:

  • Equipment, facilities enhancement, and supplies to promote better health outcomes for patients
  • Education, training, professional development, and conference attendance (up to $2,000)
  • Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies (up to $6,500)
  • Toowoomba Hospital Foundation Pure Land Learning College Research Grants (up to $50,000)

Research Grants

Health research across the Darling Downs Health region is supported each year thanks to the generosity of Pure Land Learning College who donate an annual gift to help Darling Downs Health staff achieve their research projects.  

The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation Pure Land Learning College Research Grants are overseen by our Research Grants Committee and awarded by our Board across two categories: 

  • Novice (up to the value of $20,000)
  • General (up to the value of $50,000)

Applications for Round 1 of the Research Grants program are now open and will close on Friday 29th March 2024.

Staff Car Parking at Toowoomba Hospital

There are multiple paid parking options available to staff wanting to park at the Toowoomba Hospital. It should be noted that spaces are limited, waitlists may apply, and priority will be given to shift workers. 

On Campus Parking

Campus Permit: $32

Direct Debit
On campus parking for the life of the permit
Deducted fortnightly
Does not include parking in the multi-storey carpark

Top Up Pass Multi-storey: $5.40

Prepaid Card – Self Loaded
1 shift of multi-storey carpark parking
Top up your prepaid card as you use your funds 
Excludes entry between 7am – 9.10am on weekdays

Night Pass Multi-storey: $1

Prepaid Card – Self Loaded

Entry / Exit only available between 4pm and 9am

Rates effective as of 1 May 2023. Parking on campus without a permit will incur a fine. These fines are not issued by the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and it does not receive any funds collected from fines. If you would like to discuss a fine, please contact phone ext. 6286

O’Quinn Street – Three hour parking zone between West & Helen Streets

Staff Shuttle Service

Darling Downs Health provide a free shuttle service operating from 7pm to midnight, every night, to take staff from the front of the hospital to their vehicle along a defined route.  

The bus departs every 20 minutes outside the Security Office at the main hospital entrance. For more information contact the Security Supervisor on speed dial 1112.
