What’s changing?
To better support our region's healthcare and align with best practice, THF will pause general Applications for Funding from the end of October 2025 while we review our process.
This pause will help us improve our process and make future applications simpler, more transparent and better aligned with strategic direction — ensuring funding continues to have the greatest impact across our health service.
What remains open:
- Staff Wellness Applications – assessed monthly
- Research Grant round Applications – assessed bi-annually

FAQ — Applications for Funding
What is changing?
From the end of October 2025, general Applications for Funding will be paused while we improve the process. The goal is to make future applications easier to understand, more impactful, and aligned with best practice.
Which applications remain open?
The Staff Wellness Grants Program will remain open and will continue to be assessed monthly while the bi-annual Research Grant rounds will remain unchanged. Please visit this page for more information.
When will the Applications for Funding reopen?
The new process is expected to reopen in mid 2026. Exact dates will be shared via the landing page and email updates.
Why is this change happening?
We’re updating the process to ensure it is clear, consistent, and easy to navigate, helping THF continue to fund the initiatives that have the greatest impact for staff and patients.
Does this mean THF has stopped providing funding?
Not at all. We’ll continue to deliver and support approved projects and ongoing funding programs while improving the Applications for Funding process. This pause allows us to better align future funding with the Foundation’s strategic direction and the evolving needs of the health service.
Can I submit a project idea now?
You can register your interest through the form on this page. We’ll notify you when the applications reopen, and you can then begin filling in the application with your project idea.
How will I know when applications reopen?
If you register your interest on this page, we’ll send you an email as soon as the new Applications for Funding process opens.
