The Bloke from Gundy

The Bloke from Gundy

In memory of his beloved wife, Judi, The Bloke from Gundy is turning heartache into hope — raising funds for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation to bring cancer care closer to home for families across the Darling Downs.
Every step for Judi, every dollar for our community.
What began as one man’s personal tribute has grown into a powerful mission — to make sure no one has to travel far from home for the care they deserve. Whether he’s pushing a wheelbarrow, running the open road, or rallying local towns, every challenge he takes on honours Judi’s memory and helps build a stronger, more caring region.
“While running, I had a lot of time to remember all the good times with my Judi and wishing she was still here,” he shared. “There were times you had to hold back the tears, but when out of sight, they ran down your face with a bloody runny nose.”
From Goondiwindi to Toowoomba, small towns have rallied behind his cause — donating prizes, cheering from the sidelines, and proving that when we come together, we can make a difference.
Together, we go further.
Each kilometre, each donation, and each act of support brings us closer to a future where every cancer patient in our region can access the care they need, close to home.

Join The Bloke from Gundy on his mission.

Monday 6th Oct

The day started with a friend coming all the way from St George dressed up as a doctor, Dr Leonie. 5.30am started finished at 12.30pm at the Toowoomba hospital. I'd like to thank all the lovely people who donated along the way and there well wishes, there were so many stories of of families that have coped with cancer and losing of loved ones. While running i had a lot of time to remember all the good times with my Judi and wishing she was still here. There were times you had to hold back the tears but when our of sight they ran down your face with a bloody runny nose.  I need to thank the fellow that pushed the wheel burrow up the hill at meringandan, it was a God sent .  Thanks to my family and all the businesses and people in Goondiwindi that have helped me out with this fundraiser. There was a young lady that lost her dad wrote on the back of the gown that we all can relate to F*CK CANCER.
